MZ BRATT

Following in the footsteps of Shystie and Lady Sovereign, feisty Londoner Mz. Bratt is one of the few female MCs to make any waves on the male-dominated U.K. grime scene. Born Cleopatra Humphrey in 1989, the daughter of MC Scallywag from '80s acid-house outfit Spiral Tribe, she was discovered by producer Terror Danjah (Sway, Kano) through her local MC battles and her MySpace page. After appearing on T4 talent contest Music-Cool, where she reduced judge Jamelia to tears with her vocal abilities, she signed to All Around the World Records, and released her first single, "Who Do You Think You Are," in 2009. After providing guest vocals for eclectic dance duo the Count & Sinden at Glastonbury and Bestival, she supported N-Dubz on their U.K. shows, appeared on The Brrrap Pack Tour with Tinie Tempah, and performed on tracks by Jazmine Sullivan, Taio Cruz, and Fugative. She's also recorded answer songs to Wiley's "Wearing My Rolex" and Tinchy Stryder's "Game Over."
