Another great night at ILUVLIVE with Tinchy Stryder back in the house after a three-year gap to perform with his original crew Ruff Sqwad. It was great to see him doing what he does best, simply spitting bars with heavy beats. MK1 opened the show and surprised everyone with great lead vocals and a fresh original sound. Rax followed on with what must be one of the most energetic performances we’ve witnessed at ILUVIVE and had the crowd cheering along.
Kyra was definitely one of the stand out performances with amazing vocals, great songs and a charismatic stage presence. We are tipping this girl for the top.
Despite being a bit more pop than ILUVLIVE’s usual offerings, Danny Shah seemed to impress the audience with his great stomp box skills and driving rhythms and Tereza Delzz brought the soul back into the place.
The night finished with a four-track set from Ruff Sqwad and an amazing open mic, the winner of which you’ll be able to see at July’s show. No open mic at the next ILUVLIVE as it’s the birthday special, which of course is definitely not one to miss.
Finally, if you didn’t know, BBC Radio were also in the house recording for their Hackney Nights sessions, part of the lead up to their big Hackney Weekend on 23rd and 24th of June. The recording of iluvlive will go out between 8pm and 1am on Sat 16th June simultaneously on BBC Radio 1 and BBC1Xtra. Tune in!
