Event Programmer
Role Purpose
Lead the development, booking, and delivery of iluvlive's live events program. Identify talent, shape event concepts, secure collaborators, and ensure events are culturally relevant, well-attended, and strategically valuable.
Own the events pipeline end-to-end, allowing the Managing Director to focus on strategy, partnerships, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Programming & Booking
Curate and book artists, DJs, hosts and collaborators
Build strong, culturally relevant line-ups rooted in UK Black music.
Identify emerging talent and new movements in the scene.
Develop fresh event concepts and formats.
Partnerships & Collaborations
Build relationships with promoters, venues, artists, managers and collectives.
Secure collaborations that add audience, credibility and value
Shape proposals and support partnership negotiations.
Event Planning & Delivery
Lead event planning from concept to confirmation
Align on budgets, fees, splits and key terms.
Oversee delivery on the day, managing artists, partners and operations.
Act as lead decision-maker to ensure smooth, high-quality events
Audience & Promotion
Define clear audiences and promotional angles for each event.
Support marketing with programming insight and artist context.
Identify partners and talent who can drive audience growth.
Cultural Insight
Stay deeply connected to UK Black music and live culture.
Ensure programming reflects current movements and audience interests.
Bring new ideas, opportunities and references into the organisation.
About You
Deeply connected to UK Black music and culture.
Experienced in booking, programming or curating live events
Strong network across artists, promoters, venues, and collectives
Proactive, organised and confident leading projects
Commercially aware with a good sense of what drives audiences
Clear communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
Experience negotiating fees, splits or partnerships
Background in grassroots music, artist development or cultural platforms
Track record of delivering well-attended events

Salary & Hours
£30–35K | 4–5 days per week (depending on experience)
Standard hours: 9am–5pm, with flexibility during live events (time in lieu provided)
