The Debut

One Song. One Stage. Great Company.

The Debut is iluvlive’s new live format spotlighting emerging talent alongside three curated main acts.

Across the night, three featured artists deliver full live sets, each bringing their own sound, story and energy. In between those sets, selected performers step up to share one song - a moment to introduce themselves, test new material, or take the stage for the first time.

The one-song slots are available via pre-registration and limited on-the-night sign-ups.

Why The Debut exists

iluvlive has spent over 20 years creating spaces where artists can be heard long before industry attention arrives. From grassroots stages to national recognition, we’ve seen what happens when the right room meets the right moment.

The Debut continues that legacy.

It’s a space for:

  • Artists ready to introduce themselves

  • Artists testing new work

  • Audiences who care about discovering what’s next

LINEUP

Monifé

Monifé, a British-born Vincentian/Nigerian artist raised in East London, made her debut in 2019 with the smooth, soulful track Unreachable. Her follow-up, Can’t Fall Back, is one of her most popular tracks to date. In October 2021, she released her first EP, Love Language, a 5-track exploration of love and self-connection, which gained international streams, especially across Africa, Europe, and the USA.

Growing up surrounded by music, Monifé was inspired by artists like Erykah Badu, Usher, and SZA, though she was initially shy about singing publicly. Her mother enrolled her in the Young N Gifted choir at 10, where she found her voice and confidence. A passionate live performer, Monifé has shared her music at venues like Kindred and Rough Trade. Her personal connection to music - using it to lift her spirits and channel emotions is exactly what drives her to create songs that resonate deeply with listeners.

Lou Kadara

lou kadara is an East London–based alternative R&B artist, songwriter and self-producer whose work moves fluidly across genre. Blending alternative R&B, melodic rap and atmospheric electronic influences, his music resists easy categorisation, shaped by a sound that prioritises feeling, texture and narrative over convention.

Writing and producing the majority of his own material, lou approaches each record as a complete world, with production and songwriting developing side by side. His sound is defined by sparse but intentional arrangements, layered vocals and introspective lyricism that explores identity, ambition, relationships and personal growth with a measured, understated delivery.

Influenced by artists such as Frank Ocean, Brent Faiyaz and SZA, lou kadara’s music reflects a genre-bending approach rooted in the creative energy of East London’s independent music scene, where experimentation and authorship sit at the centre of his artistic identity.
